WINDOWS  KEY  SHORTCUTS

   
  windows + m  minimize all windows
windows + shift + m  undo minimize all windows
windows + e  open windows explorer
windows + d  switches between minimising all pgms & showing  them all.
windows + f  opens ths find window
windows + r  opens the run window
windows + [Break/Pause]  opens system properties
windows + Tab  cycles through items on the task bar
   
 

ASSIGNING SHORTCUTS IN THE WINDOWS START MENU

   
 

METHOD ONE :
1. (right click select properties). goto programs in start menu & right
click on application you need a shortcut.
2. there is a text area in pop up window where you key in ur shortcut.
press the key combination. for ex: [Ctrl]+[F12] as what u want,
then check.

 

METHOD TWO :
miniwin is a system tray utility that lets you use the [windows]key.
*create a shortcut to notepad
1.press minimum system tray icon & choose the setting option.
2.press plus button on the miniwin tool bar.this brings up window in which
you could assign the shortcut for ur program.
3.key in descriptive name for the item & specify the location of the
program executable (in this case notepad.exe) then pick a sshortcut
key say n .this will set [windows]+[n] as shortcut combination for Notepad.

 

METHOD THREE :
setting the focus, if shortcuts are not working
1.click on miniwin in your taskbar and from popup menu choose 'set focus'
2.now when the focus is set press the appropriate shortcut
ex: [windows]+[n].

   
   
 

REGISTRY  TWEAKS

   
 

ICONFREE DESKTOP

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\microsoft\windows\current version\policies\explorer.
then create a DWORD value named no desktop & set it to 1. Restart system.

 

CHANGE COMPUTER INFO. OF MY COMPUTER

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\hardware\Description\System\central rocessor\0
then look for vendor identifier & all that things.

 

HIDE DRIVES IN MY COMPUTER

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\current version\policies\explorer.
then create a new DWORD value named No Drives and set it's value to 3FFFFFF.

 

LOCATE ERRORS IN REGISTRY
